The Mother City, for the first time will have the opportunity to participate in the Smile Cyclethon hosted by the V&A Waterfront. By joining in, you can assist Smile Foundation in raising funds for children in need of reconstructive surgery.
The Smile Cyclethon takes place on Saturday 11 March 2017 at the Clock Tower Square, near the Cape Town Fish Market restaurant, and will see willing members of the public sweat it out and feel the burn as they do their bit for charity. Sessions are 50 minutes long, and the public are welcome to do as many sessions as they wish. Sponsors include, KIA MOTORS, PLANET FITNESS and BIOGEN.
“We are extremely excited to finally bring this meaningful event to Cape Town. Not only is it a great way to celebrate our sunshine weather and getting healthy, but it helps generate funds that make a genuine, tangible difference in children’s lives, and I couldn’t think of anything that could be more rewarding than that,” says Hedley Lewis, Executive Director of Smile Foundation.
“The V&A Waterfront is proud to host the inaugural Smile Cyclethon, an event with such a great cause. We wish the team everything of the best and hope that this is only the start of the work we can do together.” Said V&A Waterfront CEO, David Green.
