ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay, taking place on Sunday 17th November, is a sold-out race with over 2,500 athletes set to take part

MOSSEL BAY, South Africa. (October 17, 2024) – In one months’ time, thousands of athletes are set to descend on the Western Cape to compete in the sold-out ISUZU IRONMAN® 70.3® Mossel Bay.

This first-timer friendly race consists of over 65% of the athletes taking on their first race in Mossel Bay, and nearly 50% doing their first ever IRONMAN 70.3 race. It’s set to be an emotional and rewarding day for those athletes.

Notable competitors include fitness influencer Tracey-Lee Lusty, who is aiming to complete the South African Tour Series having already completed ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Nelson Mandela Bay and ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Durban this year. She will round of the Tour Series in style on Sunday 17th November and take home the impressive medal, which is rewarded to athletes who complete all three South African IRONMAN races in one season.

TV presenter and IRONMAN athlete Mac Moleli also returns to Mossel Bay to secure his Tour Series medal once again. He’s already completed ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship and ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Durban this year, with ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Mossel Bay last to complete on his list.

The race gets underway with a 1.9km swim starting from Santos Beach. Athletes will swim from here via the marked swim route onto the De Bakke Beach at Santos Bay. From here athletes will run into Transition 1, located in the adjacent De Bakke car park. Athletes will then head onto their 90km bike route on an out and back course before heading back into Mossel Bay for the run. The 21.1km run course goes past the Santos Beach area into the harbour precinct ultimately ending back up on Santos Beach for the red carpet finish line.
