In a roof top evening event, the RoadCover Cycling team got together with their sponsors, partners and team associates for a celebration of their involvement together in 2017! The RoadCover Cycling Team enters it’s second year with RoadCover as the title sponsor. Following on from a successful 2016, the team grows in number and aims to repeat the successes and fun!
Bradley Potgieter is the Captain, bringing his calm head, and years of experience along with his giving nature and big engine! Willie Smit is building on his progression as the top South African stage race rider. Willie has started 2017 with a bang! Winning the Mpumalanga Tour, finishing second in the SA Time Trail Championships and third in the road race, before winning the African Continental Championships for South Africa!
Clint Hendricks the winner of the 2016 Cape Town Cycle Tour will aim to build on his feats in 2017. The team’s fast finisher! This year’s CTCT did not go as planned with the weather gods getting involved, so there will be other goals for later in the year! Kent Main is one of the top climbers on the team, young but able. He is hoping to break through in his own righ in the tough races in 2017. And he has, with a stage win and verall success at the Tour of Good Hope. Kent has been offered a ride with the Dimansion Data Continental team in Italy, so will depart at the bginning of April to pursue his dreams. The team is sorry to see him go, but proud to have assisted in his progression
Mornay Van Heerden moves up from the RCCC Hollard u23 team. He spent a lot of time with the RoadCover
team in 2016, and his ability and stature continue to grow. Eddie Van Heerden, a top triathlete turned to road cycling, will continue to improve with RoadCover Cycling team in 2017. Some promising moments near the end of last year have catapulted him a new level, and more recently a third place overall in the Tour of Good Hope shows his abilities.
Lastly, Brendon Davids, top mountain biker turned road rider, winner of the Telkom 94.7 Cycle Challenge in 2016 is now part of the team. He will build on his experience levels and abilities in the hills, tours and time trials. Brendin started the year well with a second place in the Mpumalange Tour!

We want to allow the growth of our riders abilities to take place, so that making the junction to a higher level will be possible” says Nic White.
“It is not an easy step, but it is attainable. Through hard work, dedication, the best race program that we can find within our environment. We hope to allow our riders to pursue their dreams. In the mean time, the team races and strives to excel in the events that we compete in!”
