Entries are open for the 22nd Dis-Chem Half Marathon and 5km Fun Run presented by Momentum Multiply. Gauteng’s premier half marathon is proudly hosted by Bedfordview Country Club Athletics will take place on 14 January 2024 at Virgin Active Bedfordview.

The iconic route remains unchanged, winding its way through the hills of Bedfordview, Morninghill and Primrose, providing runners with a challenging route and spectacular views.

22 years of support

New presenting sponsor

In an exciting new development for the event, the Dis-Chem Half Marathon welcomed a new brand to the team, with Momentum Multiply securing the presenting sponsor rights for the event for the next 3 years.

Momentum Multiply is a wellness rewards programme that rewards members from day one for looking after their mental and physical wellbeing.

Event information

The Half Marathon will have a seeded start and will be timed. The race starts in Riley Road at 06:00am on Sunday 14 January 2024. The 5km Dash will be timed and it starts at 06:30am on the same day.

Race marshals will be stationed along the route, providing encouragement to the runners. There will be six water points along the 21.1km route with Coke and water sachets. Club gazebos, catering, locker and shower facilities will be available at the finish.

Funds will be raised for the two race charities: Lambano Sanctuary for orphaned children with HIV and the Namaqua Dog and Donkey Foundation, which undertakes the sterilisation, vaccination and treatment of animals in informal settlements on the East Rand. All donations by runners, over and above their entry fee, will be matched by the Dis-Chem Foundation.

Entries selling fast!

The race is known to sell out within a couple of weeks after entries open. There are 6000 entries available for the 21km race and all entrants will receive a technical race T-shirt and goodie bag. Entries close on 15 December, or once the 6000 available entries are sold.

The 5km Fun Run returns, with 1000 entries available. Entrants will receive a pair of Centrum branded socks.
